When did you attend Penn State, and what was your major?

I attended Penn State Brandywine from the Fall of 2014 to the Spring of 2016. My major was Communications Arts and Sciences.

What specific factors led you to attend Penn State?

Penn State was my dream school. I always wanted to play soccer at Penn State, which I later did, at the Berks campus. I wanted to stay at Penn State to obtain my degree from an accredited University with a vast network of alumni, so I enrolled in at the Brandywine campus.

Can you share your most memorable experience during college?

One of my most memorable experiences while attending Penn State Berks was playing for the Women’s Soccer team. My most memorable experience at Penn State Brandywine was definitely traveling to Paris, France in 2016 for Spring Break!

Were there any professors, mentors, or courses that had a significant impact on your academic or personal development?

Dr. Julie Gallagher really aided me with my ambition of becoming a clothing designer from the very start. With her help, I was featured on the Penn State website as a student-entrepreneur and from there my business really began to grow. Bill Tyson has also played an integral part of my success as an alumni of Penn State. Because of Bill, I have continued to stay involved with the Brandywine campus, joining the Alumni Society, Advisory Board, and becoming a coach with the Penn State Launchbox. The guidance and support of both Bill and Dr. Gallagher continues to inspire me as I navigate my professional career.

How did your Penn State education prepare you for your career or future endeavors?

As a college athlete I was really forced to become more disciplined and careful with how I spend my time, going from practice, to class and then games! This learned skill continued to help me throughout my time at Brandywine and has absolutely aided me in my professional career, especially as an entrepreneur.

How has your Penn State network or alumni connections played a role in your professional life?

I am so grateful for all of the connections this University has given me. Our Alumni network is incredibly friendly and helpful in aiding other Penn Staters with their careers.

What advice do you have for current or future Penn State students looking to make the most of their university experience?

Get involved on campus and don’t be scared to try new things! Get to know your classmates and professors!
